Braving the elements of cold, wind, and low cloud cover, the first phase of installation works has been completed by FM Environmental engineers, in conjunction with our civil engineering partners.
These photos taken on a calm December day, demonstrate the ruggedness of the BIOSAM, and its ability to fit into challenging conditions. And at a altitude of 1000 feet above sea level, this definitely counts as a challenge.
The first phase saw the delivery and connection of the precast concrete primary chambers, and the main aeration and final settlement tanks. While the primary tanks required cranage, the aeration and final settlement chambers can be lifted into position by use of a teleporter or JCB with lifting straps – a contractors dream! Thus the installation costs are kept to a minimum.
