FM VISIT DISTRIBUTOR IN SOUTH AFRICA
FM Environmental recently paid a visit to its South African partners, Grease Guardian SA, where we were delighted to announce that FM Environmental would enter the South African market with its Biosam range of highly mobile, modular wastewater treatment plants. These completely packaged plants overcome the logistical issues of assembly, by having all tanks pre-equipped with the necessary requirements, making it a “plug and play” system.
Our Grease Guardian market presence was reinforced with aggressive plans made for 2012, building on the great successes of 2011. Most recently Grease Guardian SA completed a prestigious D5 installation at a top hospital in the Eastern Cape Province.
Invista Compliance Reporting & Asset Management solutions featured heavily in the visit, with high hopes of the first South African municipalities adopting Invista as a key component to turning large amounts of data and records into useful and timely information to assist in meeting the Green Drop environmental requirements. Invista offers complete turnkey bureau services to scope out the requirements, integrate and implement a mechanism to ensuring maintenance and reporting is done in a timely manner. See www.invistatech.com, or contact FM Environmental for more information on how it can benefit you.
Many thanks to our partners, Ryan, Dayne and Grant, shown here, for the very warm welcome and busy and quality schedule. As the first snows of winter settle in Europe, South Africa enters into its summer.

DOUBLE OLYMPIC SUCCESS FOR NEWRY COMPANY
Newry Engineering firm, FM Environmental Ltd. has secured its second contract at an Olympic venue in a fortnight. The company, which specialises in water and wastewater treatment equipment, this week secured a lucrative contract to supply mechanical aeration equipment to the newly refurbished Olympic Canal in London. Hailed as the gateway to the Olympic Park, the canal is undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment in time for next year’s games. The forced-air aeration equipment will be flown in from FM Environmental’s Australian partner and installed in the coming weeks. Its purpose is to ensure adequate mixing and aeration of the 3-mile canal stretch that will be used to ferry thousands of spectators to and from the 2012 games.
The Olympic Canal contract comes on the heels of a recent contract to supply automatic grease removal equipment to a group of hotels in the Russian town of Sochi, the venue for the 2014 Winter Olympic games. Infact, the Company has a history of supplying Olympic venues having also kitted out the Olympic Village in Sydney with water treatment equipment for the 2000 games as well as supplying grease removal equipment for hotels in Athens for the 2004 games. These new contracts are part of an export drive by FM Environmental to open up new markets for the Company’s growing range of exportable products. In the coming months the Company will be participating on trade missions to Saudi Arabia, Kurdistan and Singapore while it is also currently negotiating distribution agreements in Qatar as the country gears up for the 2022 World Cup. The Company has also just shipped a container of over 100 Grease Guardian automatic grease removal units to a major overseas customer making the normally quiet holiday month of July one of it’s busiest in recent years.
Commenting on the Company’s recent successes, Export Director Eamon Fitzpatrick Jnr. said “We have been actively developing products and technologies that are readily exportable and through a number of partnering arrangements have been able to secure a foothold in new overseas markets. Our twin-track approach to growth comprises of a strong domestic base supporting an expanding export business and these recent contracts are evidence of the hard work and effort put in by our staff in recent months.”
